Advancing the Science of Delivery

Pharcon’s R&D programs focused on solving the challenges associated with poorly absorbable compounds. Our work spans pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmeceutical and hybrid formulations, with an emphasis on improving solubility, permeability, bioavailability of biologically active components and preventing sensitive molecules from degradation in the body.

Core Research Areas

Lipid‑Based Nanoemulsions

We develop nanoemulsion systems optimized for hydrophobic compounds, botanical extracts, and rapid‑absorption applications. These systems improve solubility and enhance transport across biological membranes. Based on our experience, we prefer to use self-nanoemulsifying compositions, allowing to prepare a plurality of drug-loaded nanosized droplets as delivery systems without the need for high-energy application and complex equipment such as microfluidizers, high-pressure homogenizers, and powerful ultrasonic generators.

Oral Peptide Delivery

Peptides are notoriously difficult to deliver orally due to enzymatic degradation and poor permeability. Our research explores protective carriers and absorption‑enhancing strategies to overcome these barriers.

Enhanced Topical Delivery

Nanocarriers in scientifically developed formulations can be effectively delivered transdermally deeper into the skin, providing either local or systemic activity. Not only lipophilic compounds, but some polar water-soluble molecules such as DNA, peptides and others can be delivered into the skin using appropriate colloidal drug delivery systems.

Controlled‑Release Technologies

We can design formulations that release active ingredients gradually, improving therapeutic consistency and reducing dosing frequency. CR formulations can incorporate not only pharmaceutical components but also some chronic‑use nutraceuticals, botanical actives with molecules with short half‑lives, as well as compounds requiring steady plasma levels.

Botanical Compound Formulation

Natural compounds often exhibit complex behaviour due to multiple active constituents. Our R&D efforts focus on stabilizing sensitive molecules, improving solubility, enhancing absorption, and reducing variability between batches.
